Picture the scene. You arrive at Sherburn
Aero Club to be met by one of the Tiger Moth Team. As you
are taken through to the lounge area you catch a glimpse
of 'The Moth' sitting on the grass in all her splendour
amidst a myriad of modern aircraft and helicopters. She
is unmistakable decked out in camouflage, and displays with
pride her original RAF serial number T-7909 and roundel.
You have indeed reported for your first lesson in this classic
trainer of the 1930's! After your pre-flight briefing it's
time to don flying suit, jacket and helmet and leave the
clubhouse where your 'Moth' awaits. As you climb into the
cockpit you turn and wave to your friends and relatives
who have accompanied you on this momentous occasion, before
taking to the skies. You are about to embark upon your own
Tiger Moth Experience and enter the world of aviation as
it used to be providing you with memories you'll be talking
about for years to come, quite unlike any other. So, now
that your appetite is whetted you'll want to know what is
on offer and what it all costs. All lessons include day
membership to the Sherburn Aero Club which offers a licensed
bar and restaurant facilities, ideal for post-flight refreshments.
It also offers an outdoor seated area where your friends
and relatives can sit and watch you enjoy your Experience
and also watch the comings and goings of the other aircraft
that visit the club.
This experience will last a total of 60
minutes, with ca. 45 minutes spent in the air.
