Street
Symphony A
documentary 52 mins about street
music across Europe.
Directed by Julien Raout and Sébastien
Pin (France)
There
is music in the streets of the major
European capitals. In Paris you'll
find accordeonists playing popular
songs on the Butte Montmartre and
some of the finest jazzmen on the
quays Saint-Michel. In London, Coven
Garden a rock band performs a Jimi
Hendrix act while on the Charles
Bridge some flute players fascinate
tourists...
Musique
Classique à Covent Garden,
Londres.
Everybody
hears street musicians, but who
really listens to them? Music in
the street is a free ticket to the
masses, but could it bring harmony
in the busiest cities?
This
is an anthropological documentary
(52 minutes), displaying street
musicians as artists instead of
buskers, viewing them as an essential
part of the cultural life of big
cities. From walking around small
streets of Paris to along the London
underground platforms to over the
bridges of Prague, we will discover
a daily universe that remains invisible
and unknown to most of us.
