Piper L-4 "Grasshopper"
Mahogany Model
Based
on the civilian Piper J-3 Cub, the Piper L-4 liaison
craft, affectionately known as an "L-Bird"
or "Grasshopper," served in multiple WWII
roles including artillery observation, medical evacuation
and reconnaissance. L-4s even soldiered on into the
Korean War only to be replaced by helicopters. This
1/24 scale model measures 111/2" in length and
has a wingspan of 171/4". These beautifully crafted
models are all hand-made, hand painted and detailed.
