1/72 Die Cast Model
This
incredibly intricate and detailed 1/72 scale die cast
model is of SH-3 Sea King no. 66 of Helicopter Squadron
4, operating from the USS Hornet airplane carrier.
One of the most famous and photographed of all helicopters,
this was the recovery airplane for the Apollo 11 space
capsule in 1969. Model features movable rotors, sliding
door and winch detail, choice of flying and static
rotors, and accurate interior with pilot figures.

U.S. Marine Corps Helicopter Sqn. One (HMX-1) and
the U.S. Army Executive Flight Detachment have as
a primary mission the emergency evacuation of the
President, his family, and other key government officials.
After satisfying this mission, these units furnish
helicopter transportation for the President and others.
In 1961, the VH-3D Sea King began to replace the VH-34D
as the primary executive transport, and this variant
