Curtiss P-40 Warhawk
Tony Weddel. The exploits of the A.V.G. (American Volunteer Group), also known as the Flying Tigers, are now legendary. During the brief time that the Flying Tigers defended China and Burma against the incursions of the Japanese, they racked up a high kill-to-loss ratio and the gratitude of a nation. Flying Tigers
Stan Stokes. This print captures three P-40s flying in tight formation while serving in the American Volunteer Group in defense of China. Despite being greatly outnumbered, and facing critical shortages of supplies and spare parts, the AVG's official victory tally included 299 airplane shot down and another 240 destroyed on the ground. Signed by 24 luminaries from the Flying Tigers including Tex Hill, Chuck Older and R.T. Smith, the 27"x 20" print is also signed by the artist.
