PAINTING PRINTS - WWII BATTLE OF THE ATLANTIC WALL

War in the Atlantic
Stan Stokes. The Sunderland Flying Boat was one of the great assets in the war against German U-Boats in the Atlantic. Capable of great range and endurance, the Sunderland could also pack quite a wallop. Sometimes, as seen here, the Sunderland would catch U-Boats on the surface trying to finish off their prey while conserving torpedoes. 16"x 11?" signed and numbered limited edition print.

$64.95

Black Cat Rescue
Nicholas Trudgian. Print depicts rescue under fire as this "Black Cat" swoops in for the save. Rescuing downed airplane was just one of the roles of this unique amphibious airplane. Other missions performed by Catalinas include anti-submarine warfare, laying mines, and bombing. Signed and numbered, limited edition 16?"x 13?" print.

Sink the Bismarck
Stan Stokes. Depicted here is the famous torpedo attack by Fairey Swordfishes launched from the "Ark Royal." Their success in disabling the great ship Bismarck ultimately led to its sinking just days later. 16"x 11?" signed and numbered limited edition print.

$47.95

Cats Have Claws
Don Feight. The Consolidated PBY Catalina was considered obsolete by the U.S. Navy in 1939. However, the "Cat" turned out to be the best anti-sub airplane available at the start of the Battle of the Atlantic because of it's range, capacity, and durability and was employed by many countries for ASW. This print features a PBY-5A Catalina in early WWII U.S. markings engaged in a running battle with the scourge of the North Atlantic - a German type VII U-Boat. Limited edition of 500 signed and numbered by artist. 28"x 22" print.

$47.95

Closing the Gap
Don Feight. Filling a gap in the Atlantic that land-based airplane could not, Escort Carriers equipped with Grumman Avengers and Wildcats protected the lifeline convoys sailing from North America to England in WWII. Print depicts the USS Bogue (CVE-9) escorted by these bombers and fighters, in a calm moment. In all, the Escort Carriers and their crews used in the Battle of the Atlantic sunk fifty-four German u-boats. Limited edition of 500, signed and numbered by the artist. 28"x 22".

P-Boat: One, U-Boat: Nothing
Don Feight. The big, tough Martin flying boats were already in service prior to America's entry into WWII and were quickly adapted to the role of anti-submarine warfare against the Nazi U-boat wolfpacks in early 1942, but were used in a variety of other roles that included - search and rescue, transport, electronic warfare, reconnaissance, and patrol. Print depicts a Martin PBM Mariner over calm seas attacking a submerged U-boat with a low-level depth charge run. The airplane carried its ordnance in a unique bomb bay located in the engine nacelles, and it had the capability of carrying torpedoes under the wings. Signed and numbered, limited edition of 500, 28"x 22" print.
