Royal Swordfish Take Taranto - VHS Video
On the night of November 11, 1940, a Royal Navy aircraft carrier launched 21 Swordfish torpedo bombers on a surprise attack against the Italian fleet anchored in Taranto's port. The ships, thought to be immune to air attack, were protected by anti-torpedo nets, and surrounded by barrage balloons and anti-aircraft defenses. But, in less than two hours, the bombers disabled or sunk three battleships and several cruisers while severely damaging port installations. 50 minutes.

One Hour Over Tokyo
The Doolittle Raid - VHS Video

In the aftermath of Pearl Harbor, Commander Jimmy Doolittle came up with a bold plan to get a measure of revenge on Japan while raising American morale. 80 airmen volunteered for the top secret, one way mission into enemy territory, which required launching army bombers from an aircraft carrier and attacking Tokyo. In this video, the raid comes to life through the words of some of the survivors. Filmed at the 2001 reunion of the Doolittle Raiders, they talk about their legendary commander and their historic mission. These men not only gave hope to a demoralized nation, they helped change the course of the war. 50 min.

Greatest Raids:
The Schweinfurt Disaster
- VHS Video
Relive the 1943 raid remembered as the "Gettysburg" of the 8th Air Force: it claimed over 60 B-17 Flying Fortresses and proved - at extraordinary cost - the indisputable value of fighter escorts for daytime bombing missions. Here, veterans share the horror of facing the Luftwaffe, while military historians examine the after-effects of the devastation that led to a re-assessment of the Allied bombing strategy. 50 minutes.

Adventures of Otto Skorzeny - VHS Video

Greatest Raids:
The Dambusters - VHS Video
They were like no other bombs ever designed, made to be dropped from extremely low altitudes over water and bounce across the surface like a skipping stone before striking their targets: Ruhr dams that powered the Nazi war industry. This video relives the daring night mission flown in flak filled skies, when 8 of the 19 bombers of 617 Squadron never returned. Through archival footage, you'll see the impact of this dramatic mission. 50 minutes. VHS
