Great Planes Vol.
2:
F-111 Aardvark
- VHS Video
The F-111 is unique and so is its story.
Born from the Tactical Fighter Experimental Program
(TFX), caught in McNamara's multi-service fighter
concept, the Aardvark, despite being an economic
catastrophe and one of the most complex aircraft
mechanical designs ever created, would become the
world's first combat aircraft to use variable-sweep
wings. Film shows the development of the F-111 and
puts you in the cockpit during the air war over
Vietnam and during the 1986 strike mission over
Libya. Color and B&W footage, approx. 60 minutes. |
